75W and 150W Ultra high point intensity lamp and power supply
The Optosource lamphouses are based on the technology of our Classic lamphouse, which has been a part of our product range for over a decade. Its robust design features an integral igniter to eliminate stray radiation during switch on, and it comes with a separate power supply unit. Lamp mountings can be provided for our high performance 75W or 150W continuous xenon arc lamps or the 75W xenon flash lamp. The lamp is mounted vertically to maximise the point intensity in the image of the arc, with the output focussed onto a liquid light guide or the input slits of the Optoscan monochromator in our standard configurations.
The Optosource has been optimised for the Optoscan monochromator, with the fast f#2 optics matched to the monochromator input. This system is ideal for users wanting the maximum possible point intensity from the xenon arc for applications such as high speed imaging. The 75W version is recommended for most applications, but the longer lamp life of the 150W version is attractive in some instances.
