This is our revised flash lamp system, based around our Optosource lamphouse
with the lamp mounted vertically. The system includes both the Flash System
Controller, P115/PSU/000 and the lamphouse
itself. It is normally used with our single wavelength optical adapter P125/xxx/025
and a liquid light guide to inject the broad spectrum xenon flash into a microscope
epifluoresence coupling. The lamphouse contains a large ellipsoidal mirror,
which focuses light via the optical adapter onto the end of the light guide.
This system has an improved light collection over the classic lamp with an
aperture of f#2. For combining flash photolysis with continuous illumination
we have a dual light guide coupling which fits our standard range of microscope
adapters.
