Flexible Ultra-violet Transmitting Light Guides
Our standard light guides are 1.5m in length and have been selected for their enhanced transmission in the ultra-violet region of the spectrum. The standard guides can be supplied in either 2 or 5mm core diameters, although other lengths and core diameters are available on request. Light guides can be supplied with different cores with different spectral properties, for instance a core optimised in the visible region is more appropriate if an ultra-violet probe is not being used, such as that in P137/015/002.The standard light guides have been selected for coupling to epifluorescence microscopes, with the 2mm diameter core optimised for coupling from the Optoscan monochromator or the Optical Adapter; and the 5mm core optimised for coupling from the Flash Photolysis system.
