Flexible Visible Spectrum Transmitting Light Guides
The visible spectrum light guides have been selected for their broad transmission band across the visible region of the spectrum. They show enhanced transmission in the red region of the spectrum and a well suited to probes illuminated from short blue to deep red wavelengths. Standard guides can be supplied in either 2 or 5mm core diameters, although other lengths and core diameters are available on request. Light guides can be supplied with different cores with different spectral properties, for instance a core optimised in the ultra-violet region is more appropriate if an ultra-violet probe is used, such as that in P135/015/002.The standard light guides have been selected for coupling to epifluorescence microscopes, with the 2mm diameter core optimised for coupling from the Optoscan monochromator or the Optical Adapter; and the 5mm core optimised for coupling from the Flash Photolysis system.
