Microscope Coupling

To ensure full compatibility with equipment from different suppliers we have opted for a C mount thread coupling for all our detection devices. As this is the most widely accepted standard for CCD cameras it is supported by all manufacturers. In the case of some of the more popular fluorescence microscopes we can supply our own C mount coupling as an alternative to purchasing one from your microscope supplier. These are available for the Leica DMIRB and DMIL,

Nikon 200/300 and TE, and the Olympus IX series microscopes. If you have purchased one of our adapters it should already be fitted to the detection assembly and will simply require insertion into the sideport of your microscope and locking off with the large knurled screw (on Nikon 200/300 microscopes it may be necessary tofirst remove a section of the side arm which is only required if a Nikon relay lens is fitted). If not then first verify that the appropriate output port has a male C mount thread on the end. Detach our rectangular diaphragm holder (or equivalent component with a female C mount thread) by releasing the 3 radial grubscrews. Screw this piece onto the microscope and replace the rest of the detection hardware
