Fast fluorescence imaging systems from Cairn
The hardware available for fluorescence imaging changes at a bewildering rate. It seems that every month faster, more sensitive cameras are brought to the market; more powerful software is released or more flexible hardware is designed. Each development has advantages for particular applications, but it can often be difficult to decide whether those advantages are good value for your research.
At Cairn we have many years experience in fast fluorescence detection in biological samples, and so our aim is to provide a choice of fast imaging systems to take advantage of both traditional and state of the art fluorescence techniques in the biomedical sciences. These range from ratiometric imaging and fluorescence in-situ hybridisation (FISH), to total internal reflectance fluorescence (TIRF) and fluorescence resonance energy transfer (FRET) studies. More information on these techniques can be found in the technical section of the site, with further details to be added soon.
Our imaging systems are usually assembled around a fluorescence microscope using our Optoscan monochromator for fast excitation wavelength selection, together with theOptospin filter wheel and a research grade integrating CCD camera or photodiode array for signal detection. We can provide anything from a single filter component to a complete automated system for a multi-user facility, so if you are looking to move to fluorescence imaging then contact us on tech@cairnweb.com and we will help find the best system for your requirements.
If you are new to fluorescence imaging and the underlying technology, please refer to our imaging overview pages in the technical section for a more detailed look at the decisions to be made when defining parameters for your system.
Why deal with Cairn ?
- Fluorescence Expertise - Fluorescence detection is our speciality, with each of us having many years experience in practical fluorescence measurements.
- Independent Advice - We are not tied to any single software or camera provider, so are free to recommend the best solution to fit your requirements.
- Choice - We are able to offer software, specialist digital cameras and image intensifiers from a variety of manufacturers to suit your needs and budget.
- Speed - As official European distributor for RedShirt Imaging we can offer ultra fast (msec time resolution) imaging systems.
- Flexibility - All imaging systems are fully compatible with our modular hardware to ensure easy integration with existing equipment.
- Support - regardless of whether you buy an entire system or a single component from us we will endeavor to make sure that it integrates with your existing hardware.
- We are an established company - We will not pass the buck, and as we have been continuously trading under the same name for nearly fifteen years we are likely to still be around if you have any problems in the future.
- Value - We are a privately owned company with all profits re-invested to develop new products, so we can offer the best value solution from ultra fast arrays with commercial software to basic frame rate image capture with free software.
