Combined Fluorescence/Flash Photolysis Excitation Systems

Our recommended combined flash and fluorescence configuration.

By combining the light from two liquid light guides, using a suitable dichroic mirror, it is possible to carry out flash photolysis with fluorescence measurements, using the same episcopic light path for both. Our system offer the following advantages:

1. Modular design ensures full compatibility with existing Cairn photometric or photolysis equipment.
2. Precisely adjustable mirror holder for correct alignment.
3. Specialised dichroic mirror available which transmits > 320nm making it suitable for Fura-2 fluorescence.
4. Automatic gating of Cairn photomultipliers by our flash system, preventing them from saturating during flashes.
